The original GitHub project explores custom applications for the BMW MGU head unit, commonly known as iDrive 7. These are a few of the ideas that caught our attention.

A little more context.

What this page shows, and where the original project begins.

Is this an installer or a download service?

No. This page describes the project and presents its documented interfaces. We do not provide vehicle packages, binaries, firmware or installation services.

Will the apps work with every BMW?

No compatibility is implied. The project concerns iDrive 7 / MGU hardware. Read the upstream requirements and limitations for your specific head unit and vehicle.

Are the screenshots or gauges live?

No. The gallery contains upstream demonstration captures. Our separate interactive instrument uses fictional sample values. Nothing on this page connects to your vehicle.

Where are the original documentation and license?

They are maintained in the idrive7-apps repository on GitHub. The repository is the source of truth for compatibility, development, licensing and project changes.

The project lives on GitHub.

Documentation, compatibility details, licensing and all original work belong with the upstream project.
